Program Description:

The VAA Fastpitch Program is designed to offer the female athlete a fun and competitive experience in the only form of softball played in Minnesota High Schools. We have a traveling fastpitch program for the more dedicated athlete wanting to play fastpitch softball.

The traveling program has 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under and 16 & under age groups (depending on registration numbers). These leagues play doubleheaders 1 or 2 nights per week and some weekend tournaments during the season.

The traveling teams play approximately 22 league games (11 actual game nights playing two games per night) in the season. The 10 & under, 12 & under, and 14 & under teams have a season that goes from late April to early July. The 16 & under team has a season that starts after the high school season has ended and goes to the end of July.

The games are played against communities in the southern metro area like Rosemount, Eagan, Eastview, Burnsville and Lakeville. The traveling teams also play in three weekend tournaments (usually Saturday and Sunday) throughout the season. There is also an end-of-season State Qualifier tournament and possibly the State Tournament. The dedication required to play on a traveling team means that the players are expected to attend all practices and games if at all possible.

Just a Note...

We are trying to build up our association's traveling fastpitch presence in the area. You don't have to be a superstar to play fastpitch, just someone who is willing to learn and wants to play at the next level of softball. If you would like to get in on the action, please sign up!
